Cleaning & Packing

Task FPC Deck Lead Safety Lead
1. All tools cleaned and replaced in their proper case and location
2. Check survival suit inventory, to ensure all incoming scientific Personnel have a suitable size
5. Clean and dry on-deck ID guides
6. Clean and vacuum state rooms and remove trash (each leg!)
7. Collect all boots and rain gear loaned to interns and others as they depart the vessel
8. For completed otolith trays:
• Make sure caps are tightened and trays are scrubbed with dilute bleach solution and subsequently dried
9. Freshwater rinse all metal tools and parts (bolts, washers, nuts etc.) that have been on deck and exposed to saltwater
10. Full ethanol and formalin buckets capped with uncut lids and buckets properly labeled
11. Put frozen specimens in freezer boxes, properly labeled and seal with tape and ship
12. Remaining ethanol and formalin properly stored and labeled
13. Scrub and pressure-wash deck tables, baskets, and white totes
14. Stuff all used bedding and pillows in trash bags labeled USED


Data Administration

1. Completed forms from FPC filebox
4. HAND CARRY paper forms back to Seattle
• Collect data sheets (HAULFORMs, ES80 LOG SHEETS, etc) and hand carry to Seattle
5. HAND CARRY thumbdrive and/or hard copies back to Seattle
• CATCH computer - Make copies of photos from leg directory (C:/Data/Photos)
• CATCH computer - Make copy of METIS data in C:/data directory
• CATCH computer - copy Catch, Length and Specimen App CSV files from bluetooth directory (C:/Users/NOAADATA/Documents/Bluetooth/inbox) **please note: The RAW Catch and Specimen CSV files off of tablets should also be hand carried to Seattle following each leg**
• CTD computer - make copies of CTD files from the leg
• MARPORT sensors - make copies of A2S files from all sensors used on the leg
• MARPORT/SCALA computer - make copies of .sds files (use Mac compatible thumb drive)
• POSEIDON computer - Make copies of all BTD, BTH, BC2, and .xml/zip files
• POSEIDON server - make copies of 7zip files
6. Prepare progress report for each Scientific Project assigned to the vessel for the next leg's deck lead
7. Record the quantity of packages associated with each project and email or deliver that information to the Scientific Projects Coordinator


General

1. All injuries (ergonomic or other) and near misses should be submitted to the AFSC Incident Report Form
3. Fuel
4. Pass Fishing Gear Field Report spreadsheet to incoming FPC (make sure they know where it is located on the computer)
