Barbel present, but minute; caudal fin deeply forked; eye smaller, snout shorter, and head profile more rounded than walleye pollock; teeth in upper jaw in a spaced series; 9-11 gill rakers in upper arch.
Occurence: Bering Sea from Bristol Bay north, Arctic.
