Dorsal fin, anal fin, and tail edged with black; slender tail base; silver shafting extending on center of tail; gill rakers short, stout, not closely spaced (18-26 on first arch); large scales (130-153 in first row above lateral line).

Occurence: Abundant north and south of the Alaska Peninsula.
