Body color highly variable, maroon after death with bluish bones; peopercle long and slender with strong barbs on outer edge; lachrymal spine forked and extends well over upper lip; lateral line scales as large raised plates with serrated keel or spine

Occurence: Bering Sea to SE Alaska; Japan

Depth: 25-100 meters    Size: 28 cm
