Great Sculpin

Myoxocephalus polyacanthocephalus

Body color brown to gray, light ventrally with white, orange, or brown spots, may have orange or purple areas on head; dorsally with distinct dark saddle markings on body; large individuals with small spinate scales scattered above and below lateral line; 1st preopercular spine long, (about twice the length of the second preopercular spine); body shape robust; anal fin rays 8-13.

Occurence: Bering Sea to Puget Sound; Japan

Depth: 0-300 meters    Size: 76 cm
